K & K, Altahammond House Wedding

Katherine and Kevin’s journey started…

…when they booked with us in early 2020. Little did we know that we were all about enter the unpredictable world caused by Covid 19. While restrictions tightened and eased in waves they decided to go for a date earlier than originally planned and it’s fair to say their gamble paid off. In our initial consultations their main aim was to have a day that was relaxed and family centred. At the heart of the day was their twin sons who turned heads everywhere they went and what a beautiful part of the story they were.

Katherine and Kevin wanted photography that visually captured the atmosphere of their day. The thing we noticed was just how many different atmospheres there were at each stage of the day! The Bridal prep was one of the most relaxed I’ve ever witnessed with Katherine making finishing touches to reception details and taking every opportunity to relax and let the excitement build without any fuss. Meanwhile in the Grooms house the twins bath time was happening. Now I’d imagine bathing 18month old twins is crazy on a normal day never mind your wedding day! But what a special part of the story that became.

The ceremony near Portadown was another lovely warm atmosphere that provided many smiles and precious moments to capture, not least a chance to photograph a family portrait as they walked down the aisle. Yes there was a few masks that can be seen in the photos, but I’m a big believer that we smile with our eyes and thankfully everyone was doing just that.

Onward to the beautiful Altahammond house where the wonderful team had the barn set up for what was an epic reception. With so many wonderful locations inside and outside, we were spoilt for choice for photograph locations. What’s a barn without a tractor? Well, as though there wasn’t already enough character in this wedding story, this couple got a tractor ride to really top things off.

The evening entertainment provided by Dale Thomas provided plenty of laughs and many bragging rights between family and friends.

Thank you to Katherine and Kevin and their families for having us photograph their wonderful day.
